Veiled Chameleon (Baby)
The Veiled Chameleon (Chamaeleo calyptratus) are a popular species of chameleon native to Yemen and Saudi Arabia. While chameleons are considered delicate on average, veiled chameleons are considered a slightly hardier option.
Lifespan: ~5 years.
Max Size: 24" from nose to tail tip.
Terrarium Size: 24L" x 24W" x 48H". The enclosure must be mesh/open air, as chameleons do not do well in glass or acrylic/PVC enclosures.
Temperature: Enclosure should not be cooler than 75 degrees Fahrenheit during the day. These animals require a basking spot of 85 degrees Fahrenheit , and UVB is required during daylight hours as well.
Humidity: Should be maintained at 50% during the day, and upwards of 100% in the evening. Chameleons do not drink still water, so a programmable terrarium fogger and water dripper are recommended.
Diet: Insectivores. Feed a variety of feeder insects. Calcium with vitamin D3 should be supplemented, as well as a multivitamin.
