Oranda Goldfish

Type

*The Beastiary Pet Shop will NEVER sell an animal to live in a bowl. Bowls are unsuitable for almost all aquarium species, and this is especially true for goldfish. ALL animals deserve a decent quality of life, which is impossible to achieve in a bowl.*

The Oranda Goldfish (Carassius auratus) is a breed of goldfish commonly kept for their flowing fins and large crowns (called “wens”). Oranda are hardy and robust goldfish, capable of living up to two decades and growing up to 8 inches in length.

Minimum Tank Size: 20 Gallons

Maximum Fish Size: up to 8 inches

Water Temperature: 65F - 80F

Ideal pH: 6.0 - 8.0

Water Hardness: 5 - 20 dGH

Temperament: Docile to Semi-Aggressive. Does best with other similarly-sized goldfish. Do not keep with particularity delicate fish, or fish prone to fin-nipping.

Unless experienced with fish-in cycling, we always suggest cycling an aquarium BEFORE adding fish. Adding fish to a fresh, un-cycled aquarium can kill them rapidly. We offer free water testing at our physical location, and advice via email or call.
